Environment

As individuals, and as a family, we love and respect the Earth and feel a responsibility to do what we can to restore and protect it.

Since our business reaches out and touches so many people in many different lands, this feeling of responsibility carries over into our business practices as well. We’ve looked over our business systems and have tried in as many ways as possible to operate in as an environmentally responsible way as we can in our products, our distribution and our business partners.

Our Practices

When we first started, we took a close look at our business systems to see where we could lessen or eliminate our environmental impact. Every 6 months or so, we stop to reexamine ourselves and see if improvements can be made. Because of this, we hope to continue to improve our processes over time. For now, this is what we do:

  1. We run as close to a paperless office as we can and we recycle.
  2. All of our packing and shipping materials are made from at least 25% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.
  3. When “peanuts” are used for packaging, they too are 100% biodegradable.
  4. The final piece to our puzzle will be to find compostable packing tape. Seen any?

Our Products

When we chose enLux as our first manufacturer, we did so because they sold great products that were very earth friendly. Since then, we’ve continued to partner with manufacturers who put out great products that leave a minimal footprint on the ecosystem.

For instance, our LightWave branded LED lights are very low wattage; only 7 watts per bulb, but each is bright as a 50 watt halogen. The materials used in construction are largely recyclable as well, from all aluminum housings to glass lensing, and they contain no toxic materials or gases.

Our Shippers

Our current shipping partners are the US Postal Service with a decent track record of greening up their methods, and Federal Express, a company that has made great strides recently in greening up its processes.

You Can Help!

We will always be looking for new ways to renew and protect our planet, and will be eager to implement these ways in our daily personal and business routines. However, we are not experts nor are we professional environmentalists. If you have noted something that we can do better, please send us an email with your suggestions to: environmentality@lighttherapyoptions.com

Thanks,
