This article came out recently and I thought it was worth sharing as it mentioned a new photofacial type of treatment they’re calling ELT, or energy light technology.
The new device by Beauty Angel uses amber, red and near infrared light energy, which will give you most of the anti-aging results a photofacial has to offer.
They are using a mix of high pressure bulbs, filters and reflectors to generate and focus the light, but what does the work is the actual wavelengths they’re using – 570 nm to 850 nm, which is simply amber through red and into the near infrared.
While the spa experience can be rejuvenating in itself, the same anti-aging results can be achieved with in-home light therapy products of the same wavelength range, or color, as you would find in an LED photofacial.
Although the primary focus for light therapy may have been in health and medicine for a long time, the anti-aging beauty industry has not failed to notice the benefits that the right wavelengths have to offer. The energy from light wavelengths between 570 and 850 nanometers, as available through energy light technology (ELT) devices have been found to help to counteract the visible effects of aging. A simple exposure to this infrared light for about 15 minutes per treatment stimulates the body’s fibroblast cells, for a non-invasive way to boost collagen, elastin, and hyaluron production in the face, neck, hands, and other locations that fine lines, puffiness, dark circles, and sagging need to be reduced. The process is also known to help with acne, scarring, eczema, and scarring.
