In 2009, what has become 9 years ago, I realized that my focus needed to change from light therapy sales to light therapy education.
In the meantime, I got caught up in the day to day business of making ends meet. Product sales made ends meet. Mostly. But product sales took up all the time I had, and making the change from sales to education never happened.
For the last year or two I’ve been talking about “transitioning” from sales to education. “As soon as I can replace the income from product sales”, I told myself, “I will be able to focus on teaching people.”
Recently it’s become clear that the “transition” plan is not working, either, and what needs to happen is simply a leap.
So with the exception of warranty replacements, my product line on Smarterlights.com is no longer available.
Do not worry. I am not going out of business. I will still be here to help you with your light therapy questions and concerns. I will still and always honor your lifetime warranty.
Here’s some of the questions I’ve been getting:
What kind of light therapy education are you talking about?
I’m planning to write books and transform these into online classes over time.
If your lights are so good, why would you quit selling them?
When I first started in this business, there were only a handful of companies selling light therapy products. Now there are hundreds. People don’t need more products anymore. Now they need to know how to find the right product for them at a price they can afford. I am in the position to offer an unbiased, professional opinion backed by 15 years of experience. I want to be free to do that. I can’t do both.
Will your lights be available anywhere else?
No. With the exception of warranty replacements, as the lights are sold out they will simply become unavailable.
Can I become a distributor?
No. The manufacturer has disallowed me from accepting distributors.
Can I buy your business?
No. I am not going out of business. I am only changing the direction of my business.
